What makes a great place to work?

Future-Focused Finance is about improving NHS finance for everyone by making sure we all have a great place to work. So how can we achieve this?

We have produced a literature review, researching the characteristics of a great place to work, within all sectors and then specifically within the NHS. This research has identified the behaviours that have the biggest impact on how people who work in NHS finance feel about their job. The full report can be accessed here.

Based on these findings, we’ve developed a toolkit to help you understand how your finance department currently measures up, identify areas for improvement and make positive changes. The toolkit first helps you to establish what’s going well as well as where you could work together to improve. There are then resources that will help you to create an action plan and make improvements.

This tool may be used to demonstrate the following level 3 requirement within the FFF Accreditation process:

3.1.5 Staff have opportunity to feedback on whether they feel valued and supported by participating in staff/perception survey (e.g. FFF Staff Engagement Survey )
