Opportunity to write for a clinical finance journal

As part of the projects we are delivering within our Finance for Clinicians and Managers work-stream, we are looking for volunteers to share experiences from their organisations where non-clinical staff and teams have been supporting their clinical colleagues and services. We are looking to publish content provided as articles within a new clinical finance journal that we will be launching this year.

As a pre-launch, we would like to deliver a special piece centred around Covid-19; to share the fantastic work finance and non-clinical staff are doing in response to the changes and transformation of processes and patient services during the pandemic.

We have already been sharing good news stories from the finance community on our social platforms, however this particular piece aims to focus on more technical and detailed pieces that we can publish as articles; which we hope will be referenced and potentially implemented within other organisations in future. The articles should have some link to improving value / reducing costs / making best use of resources etc.

If you would like to submit content for an article then please include the following as a minimum when writing:

  1. Title, author/s and NHS organisation
  2. 500 words minimum
  3. Give as much detail as possible; for example, explaining the procedure / project in a way that others can learn how this was delivered / executed. As well as any key learnings and processes that will be taken forward / permanently implemented post Covid-19.

This is not restricted to finance staff – if you have clinical or other non-clinical staff who would like to contribute to this journal then please share this bulletin with them.

We are happy to advise and help with writing articles so please do get in touch if you have an idea but are not sure how to write it. The articles will go through an editorial process so they don’t have to be perfect when submitted.
