Celebrating Diversity in NHS Finance - launch event for our new work programme

To launch our new Diversity work programme we are holding a celebratory event on Wednesday 7th November 2018 in central Birmingham.

This free event will be a celebration of the diversity of our fabulous workforce and we would encourage all Finance Directors and their teams to attend. At the event, delegates will have the opportunity to hear from policy leaders and champions of diversity from within the NHS and commercial sector, plus NHS staff stories and, most importantly, patient experiences.

One of our work programme’s main objectives is to significantly change the numbers of female and BAME representation in director level positions within five years. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP! This event will act as a platform for you to network, share stories, have fun, and discuss the challenges facing you and your organisations around this agenda. With inspiration from sessions throughout the day and support from your fellow colleagues, we want this event to encourage you and your teams to commit to making a change in your own organisation.

We are currently working on the agenda, which will be circulated soon, but confirmed speakers so far include:

  • June Sarpong MBE, Leading UK and US Television Presenter and author of ‘Diversify: Six Degrees of Integration’
  • Anne Hurst, Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, PwC
  • Lydia Warren, Co-Chair of #BartsAbility group at Barts Health NHS Trust. Watch Lydia’s inspirational patient story here
  • Claire Wright, Deputy Chief Executive & Executive Director of Finance, Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
  • Edward John, Director of Operational Finance, Frimley Health NHS FT and FFF’s Diversity Programme Lead
  • Lei Wei, Interim Chief Finance Officer, NHS Newham CCG

This event is free to attend but places are limited and will be confirmed on a first-come-first-served basis.

If your diary changes and you are unable to make the event please email us ahead of the day to confirm cancellation of your place.  If you are unable to attend the event but do not cancel your place ahead of the day then we may have to charge a fee to cover the costs we have incurred for this place (between £50-£100 depending on the session and the venue costs).

Please note, in order for the event to fully function as a networking opportunity your name, job title and organisation will be shared with other attendees at the event.
